Coming from the design board of the French firm Van Peteghem Lauriot Prévost who design some of the finest ocean-going trimarans available, the Multi 23 has a significant racing pedigree to up hold. This is particularly true if one considers for a moment the mighty trimaran USA-17 that won the America’s Cup in 2010 is a member of her family!
The Multi 23 is an open boat aimed at sailors with a desire for the adrenaline rush associated with blistering speeds. As should be expected with a vessel of this nature, creature comforts are not high on the priority list and thus the boat’s cockpit lockers and a dry locker forward of the mast, that can accommodate sails, completes the creature comforts list!
Carbon-reinforced crossbeams and carefully engineered attachments contribute to a stiff structure. The hulls are constructed of infused Vinylester resin, with solid glass below the waterline and Corecell foam on the topside sections and deck. Due to this the vessel is extremely light weighing in at around 380kg. Her mast is wing shaped and rotates which combined with a suite of racing sails supplies more than enough power.
The suite of sails consists of: Main (Good condition), Jib (In cruising condition), Jib (2018 In new condition for racing), Spinnakers – 40 Square meter & 32 Square meter (As new).
The Multi 23 is designed to be disassembled. With this said it is a time-consuming exercise and thus would typically only be done when absolutely necessary. She is being sold with her trailer. (Not currently registered for road use)
All in all, she would be a blast to sail on our more protected bays, dams, rivers, lakes & lagoons.
